Secrets to Successful Employee Programs

The number of corporations that set up employee wellness programs continues to rise this year. Investments in wellness programs are increasingly being given serious thought. Studies show that having a sound employee wellness scheme in place brings about benefits, not only to the workers but to the companies as well. Some of these benefits include:

* Better productivity

* reduced absenteeism

* a considerable boost in employee morale

* Fewer insurance claims

* Lower percentage of employee turnover

Companies that provide their workers with benefits that help them stay happy and healthy will grow and succeed. A physically and emotionally healthy body of employees is the best way for a company to get ahead.

What can your company do to ensure your worker’s physical and emotional health?

A well-devised fitness program

Use common sense to help your workers get exercise throughout the day, every day. If your company is well-off, providing a workout room in the building would encourage everyone to get active. If that isn’t possible, offering free or discounted gym memberships will entice many employees into joining.

Make Fitness Family-Friendly

To make your employee’s more likely to use the benefit, let their families in on the deal as well. This will benefit everyone in the family, not just the employee, and it shows workers that their employer is family-oriented. It also gives workers a chance to bond with their loved ones, which might be hard to come by if they work long hours.

Programs to Address Stress and Anxiety

Stressed out workers are prone to illness, depression, and anxiety disorders. A comprehensive fitness program will teach them to address these issues with exercise and lifestyle changes. An even more thorough and effective plan is to offer counseling to stressed employees and those who may be going through tough times.

Readily Available Health Care

Having health care services available in-house is beneficial to both employees and companies. This helps reduce medical and insurance costs and at the same time, it provides employees with immediate medical help should they require it.

Wellness coaching

Hard workers often put all their energy into their careers and may need help staying motivated when it comes to working out and staying in shape. Help them monitor their fitness level and provide resources to help them deal with motivational problems, anxiety, and other issues that can affect their health.

Strict implementation of no smoking rules

Smoking is bad for those who do it and those who are subject to second-hand smoke, so keep your work force healthier by banning tobacco completely. And don’t just post a No Smoking sign in your break room; to be effective the rules need to be enforced and positive encouragement given. You may even decide to actively encourage your workers to quit by providing access to support groups and medical attention designed to make quitting easier.

Slimming Down the Workforce

Obesity is another major health risk but this can be reduced by having a well designed weight loss program. It is important that employees be encouraged to lose weight by providing opportunities for weight reduction activities. It is even more crucial that they be monitored regularly in the long term.

Easy Ways To Apply To Nursing Programs

Many young people choose nursing as their career because many countries are in need of a great number of nurses and the job pays really well. Some people also took up a nursing course because it gives them a chance to help other people in the way that they know.

Being a nurse is not as easy as 123. You have to have the right attitude and personality. You should be patient, responsible, caring, understanding, and empathic to other people.

If you also want to be successful in your career, search for the best nursing programs available in different universities and choose wisely. Here are some things that you should consider in choosing a nursing program.

Nursing is something that you should really want because other people are involved. You should always give your 100 % in everything that you do. That is why planning your nursing career at an early stage of your education is advisable.

Think about your reasons why you want to pursue nursing as your career. Identify your goals. Learn more about it by interviewing nurses, reading nursing journals, and going to seminars or meetings related to the field.

You should also consider the type of nursing program that will fit in your plans. You can choose a nursing program that can be completed within 2 years or 4 years, whatever your career plan permits you to do.

Check out their requirements and the subjects that each program has. It is better if you lay out your options and research on the as early as you can because some universities lack nursing instructors, which only allows them to admit a number of nursing students.

Choose the best nursing school there is. Check out their credentials. The instructors and professors should be experts in the field. Also, you should research on the school’s NCLEX passing rate. A high passing rate implies a good school.

Check if the school is accredited by a nursing institution that recognizes universities and colleges. And finally, find out if the school offers financial assistance such as scholarships so that you will know what to aim for.

Prepare all the necessary documents such as resume, essays, and other application forms that they require you to submit. Check and double check your application to make sure that you have stated everything clearly. Before you know it, you will be on your way to a rewarding career in nursing.

Some More Information on Health Care Plans

Americans are finding the cost of health insurance increasing, so that the need for affordable health care is on the rise. Companies are using rising premiums and tighter financial budgets to reduce the level of health care available to their employees.

They informed everyone that owing to the increasing cost of providing health care, they were going to use a new, less expensive provider.

To make the system fair to everyone, the health care provider would need to change. I suppose some people are better off and perhaps I should not sound ungrateful. The problem is that in an effort to find a less expensive insurance, having my husband and daughter on the policy is now costing twice the amount it did before. So basically in order for all the employees to benefit where I work, I have to pay double but my pay remains the same so I am actually taking home less.

OK, so my health care is still respectable but the new company that we have is not as good as our previous. For many of us, higher out of pocket expenses and less in our paychecks is the only result of this pursuit of an affordable health care plan. I know this because my old plan paid all of my hospital expenses when I had my little girl just over 4 years ago. I sat and worked out the cost of this new plan and if I were to stay in hospital now and have a baby it would cost around 4,000 dollars out of my own pocket.

This figure does not take into account additional amounts I must pay out of my salary. Affordable health care options are becoming more widely available because there is a desperate need for them. Options now exist for people that are not supplied with a health provision where they work, and now single mothers have access to plans which they can join; some people can even have free health care. In principle, these plans are a good thing but there are always those that misuse it making the situation difficult for genuine cases.

For many people desperately trying to improve their situation these affordable health care plans are a life-line but to others they are just an easy option. Sometimes it is hard because your conscience says you should help but you know that many people that do not deserve help will benefit and the taxpayer is the one who pays. It is true to say that my employer is very happy because he found distinct benefits to finding a different health plan program. Having a reduced income seems to be the result of these work changes with only the company truly benefiting. Providing health care which is affordable for Americans needs to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

How to Rev Up your Medical Marketing with Proven DR Techniques.

We live in a world of flaccid me-too medical marketing, where doctors and corporate health care systems trade bragging rights over the latest amazing treatment or device. A world where TV and radio stations are more than happy to empty your wallet running ineffectual medical marketing that leaves ordinary people (you know, those people youd like to get as new patients) unconvinced. Or even worse, apathetic.

Looking for inspiration to take your medical marketing materials to a new level? Incorporating a few ideas from late night infomercials might be just what you need. I’m not suggesting your hospital or medical practice start running commercials with flashing phone numbers and a hyped up announcer shouting “Call collect! Call direct!”. But if you want your next healthcare organization marketing plan to deliver results, it couldn’t hurt to take a few hints from the folks who live and die by results.

Time for a little honesty: none of these tips are the holy grail of marketing. If you’re a student of advertising, you’re aware of many, and maybe all of them. They are truly fundamental. But that’s what you do when your game is off — you go back and study the fundamentals. Take note of these tips, and think about how you could use them to make your medical marketing more effective.

First of all, your patients only listen to one station: WIIFM. If you want new patients to pay attention and respond to your message, you’ve got to play it on their favorite station, WIIFM - What’s In It For Me. You’ve got to showcase the main advantage of your medical practice or healthcare system quickly, and just as quickly explain why it matters to them.

Less We, More You. Take out as much of the ‘WE’ as you can (as in “WE now offer Cyborg Knife Laser Beam Surgery, the most technologically advanced surgery known to modern man.”) and put in more ‘YOU’ (as in “YOU will have less pain, a smaller incision, and shorter recovery time with Advanced Cyborg Knife Laser Beam Surgery.”). When you get potential new patients to imagine how your health care system will make their life better, you’re on your way to having a patient for life.

Words Matter. Keep your unique selling proposition short and powerful, use language that’s easy for regular people to swallow. Then repeat as necessary until maximum results are achieved. This tip alone will help you stand out from your competition.

Harness the Unbeatable Power of a Dramatic Demonstration. You will never see an effective infomercial or DR TV commercial that doesn’t put this to use - whether it’s a man soaking up a liter of cola with a a high tech cloth, a duffer who can now smash a golf ball straight up the fairway, or the before and after pictures for weight loss products. The sheer power of a dramatic demonstration can’t be overstated, or underestimated.

If the advantage of the Amazing New Cyborg Knife Gamma-Ray Surgery is a smaller incision and a virtually unnoticeable scar - show us how insignificant the scar will be. If it helps people recover more quickly so they can get back to their normal life, show a patient bowling only a few days after surgery. Every successful Direct Marketer understands this simple fact: In the battle for mindshare, a dramatic demonstration is the ultimate weapon. In this case, seeing really is believing.

In future articles I’ll share more Direct Response tips you can use to beef up your healthcare organization marketing plan. Right now I’ll leave you with a critical one: Don’t forget to tell people how you want them to respond - they’re going to want to respond, and you need to make it easy for them. If you want them to call and sign up for a free guide, or a no obligation health screening, tell them, and make sure they can read your phone number! Don’t try and hide it - make it easy to read, and leave it on screen long enough for Grandpa to walk to his desk, get a pencil and write it down. You know how you want people to respond to your advertising - make sure you they know. You’ve worked hard to make medical marketing materials with real impact, don’t lose it in the inches here.

Dennis Hastert and healthcare reform

Dennis Hastert, former US House Speaker, took credit for pushing through Medicare reform during the Bush years. He was speaking at Aurora University, Illinois.

He said, "One of the toughest votes I ever had was Medicare reform...That vote went on for three hours. The Democrats were holding off 20 votes because they didn't want us to have a victory."

But he opposes the single-payer healthcare system. Rev. Geri Solomon of Aurora, a member of the Aurora Peace and Justice group protested Hastert's visit to the campus, and said Hastert's policies would make healthcare a privilege.
